HOW TO PREPARE PULSES

In the beginning, always try to cook them in the form of purees to make them easier to digest. Use them to complement vegetables, fish, meat, cereals and eggs.

 

IT´S IMPORTANT TO KNOW:

  • that pulses are not tolerated well by everyone. Begin by using them without skin and well blended.

  • It is better that you boil them yourself. Soak them in water the night before to soften them because jars or tins contain more sodium

  • If your baby suffers from gas, try cooking them with anise or cummin.

  • The proteins provided by pulses are high quality, even though they still lack some amino acids. To complement this, mix them with cereals such as, rice, pasta semolina or bread

  • Pulses are an important source of iron but, in order for the baby to digest them, they should be complemented by products rich in Vitamin C, such as, pineapple, tomatoes, orange juice.
