It is true that children from one year old can eat practically anything but it is important to know that certain foods should be left until a later age:
Dried Fruits: can cause choking and are not recommended until the age of 3.
Spicy or salty food: seriously not recommended. Avoid snack foods, packet soups, stock cubes, condiments, cured, salted or spicy products.
Deepsea Fish: not recommended until 18 months of age.
Commercially produced Pastry or Biscuits: not recommended due to excess salt and fats.
Packaged Juices: are not recommended because they contain added sugars and colourants.
Sausages, Salamis or Prepared Meats: are not recommended because of their high content of fat and salt.
